Hydrogen-cooled units in power plants effectively reduce thermal losses in generator windings through hydrogen cooling, thereby improving power generation efficiency.
Losses caused by winding impedance are referred to as ventilation losses. Even slight contamination by oil, water, or air can increase ventilation losses in generators. An increase in moisture content can also adversely affect the safe operation of generators.
